Kikuyu

Kikuyu is a warm season grass.

It is a running grass, which has good repairing qualities but can be invasive into gardens, pavers etc.

Kikuyu goes dormant (brown) in winter when grown in cool climate areas.

It doesn’t require much water in summer once established.

Kikuyu is good for high traffic areas.

It grows well in full sun but doesn’t do too well in shady, damp areas.

Kikuyu needs mowing every 5 to 7 days in summer.

Kikuyu can make a nice lawn as long as you keep up maintenance.

Mowing height for Kikuyu is 25 – 35mm.
